Clinical education & practice development lead - Community services -

Band 7 - £53,751 - £60,651 Inclusive of hcas pa pro rata

We're seeking an experienced and motivated nurse to lead clinical education and practice development within our Community Nursing Service. This key role will support workforce growth, enhance patient safety, and uphold high standards of care across diverse settings, including patients' homes, care homes, and virtual wards. You'll provide expert guidance, coordinate competency frameworks, and deliver targeted learning to ensure excellence in out-of-hospital care. Join us and help shape the future of community nursing.

There are Full-time & Part time roles available (Min 15 hrs per week) - please state in your application what you can commit to. Please note this will predominantly be working Monday-Friday, but as required, will require weekend, twilight and night shift working - this will be discussed at the interview.

Qualifications and Training
  • District Nurse Qualification
  • Practice Teacher Qualification or equivalent
  • Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to community nursing
  • SSSA assessor or equivalent
  • Postgraduate qualification in education, leadership, or advanced practice (or working towards)
  • Non-Medical Prescriber
Professional Registration
  • NMC registered
Knowledge & Experience
  • Understanding of Out-of-Hospital Care models and the role of community nursing within integrated care systems
  • Significant experience of working a community nursing service
  • Experience in clinical supervision and supporting staff development
  • Experience working across multidisciplinary teams
  • Significant experience in assessing clinical competencies and providing structured feedback
  • Experience in simulation-based or blended learning approaches
  • Experience in clinical audit or educational evaluation
  • Experience in writing reports or presenting findings to stakeholders
Specific Skills
  • Proven ability to teach and assess clinical practice in both group and one-to-one settings
  • Ability to work effectively with a variety of people at all organisational levels and across different sectors, including areas of social deprivation
  • Highly developed facilitation skills
  • Familiar with digital learning platforms and competency tracking tools
Information Technology and Information Governance
  • Competent in use of digital tools to support education and competency tracking
  • Familiar with electronic patient care systems e.g. EMIS
  • Familiar with use of e-rostering systems
