We are recruiting to a fixed term Specialty Doctor/Education Fellow in Old Age Psychiatry post for a period of 12 months.
The role will be based at The Railings, Rugby providing medical care to older adults with dementia and/or "functional" mental disorders, primarily in Nuneaton (5 PAs) along with teaching and training of medical students, at the Cauldon Centre (5 PAs).
The post will give you an excellent opportunity to develop teaching skills in leading lectures, and other forms of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching by developing and applying innovative and appropriate teaching techniques alongside supporting the teaching objectives of the Trust and Warwick Medical School.
The post holder's primary responsibility will be to provide medical and psychiatric assessment for the over 65 patients to our service with functional and organic conditions either referred to, or open to the community IPUs. Along with delivering formal teaching sessions for our medical students where you will contribute to the design, development, delivery, and evaluation of their professional development.
The post is based upon 10 programmed activities (PA's) a week, 4 for direct clinical care and 6 for supporting professional activities.
We are looking for experienced individuals with four (4) years full time postgraduate training (or equivalent) gained on part time or flexible basis), three (3) years' experience in Psychiatry and some experience of working in community-based services. The post holder will need to be Section 12(2) approved or be eligible for approval and include full GMC Registration.
