  • RCVS registration and a strong background in small animal practice.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strong clinical leadership and act as a role model for the veterinary team.
  • Support high standards of clinical and patient care across the practice.
  • Collaborate with the Practice Manager and leadership team on practice development.
  • Mentor, coach and support veterinary surgeons and clinical colleagues.
  • Support clinical governance, quality improvement and best-practice initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of learning, collaboration and CPD.
  • Develop clinical protocols, processes and standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, outcomes and client experience.
  • Assist in recruitment, onboarding and retention of clinical staff.
  • Manage clinical issues professionally and contribute to strategic planning.
  • Remain clinically active and see patients and procedures as appropriate.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and ambitious Clinical Director to join a thriving veterinary practice and play a key role in shaping its continued clinical and professional development.

This is an excellent opportunity for a veterinary professional who enjoys combining high-quality clinical work with leadership, mentoring and practice development. You’ll work closely with the Practice Manager and wider leadership team to ensure the practice continues to deliver outstanding standards of patient care while creating a positive and supportive environment for the team.

About the Role:

As Clinical Director, you will provide clinical leadership across the practice, supporting colleagues and helping to drive continuous improvement in clinical standards, processes and patient care.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Providing strong clinical leadership and acting as a role model for the veterinary team.
  • Supporting the delivery of consistently high standards of clinical and patient care.
  • Working closely with the Practice Manager and leadership team on the development of the practice.
  • Mentoring, coaching and supporting veterinary surgeons and clinical colleagues.
  • Supporting clinical governance, quality improvement and best-practice initiatives.
  • Encouraging a culture of learning, collaboration and continuous professional development.
  • Supporting the development of clinical protocols, processes and standards.
  • Helping identify opportunities to improve efficiency, patient outcomes and client experience.
  • Supporting recruitment, onboarding and retention of clinical team members.
  • Managing and resolving clinical issues appropriately and professionally.
  • Contributing to business and strategic planning from a clinical perspective.
  • Remaining clinically active and continuing to see patients and undertake consultations/procedures where appropriate.
About You:

We’re looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon who is ready to take the next step in their career or an established clinical leader looking for a new challenge.

You’ll ideally have:
  • RCVS registration and a strong background in small animal practice.
  • Significant clinical experience within a veterinary practice.
  • Previous leadership, mentoring or management experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A collaborative and supportive leadership style.
  • The ability to balance clinical priorities with wider practice objectives.
