Oxford Health NHS Trust is seeking a Clinical Development Nurse to join the Oxfordshire Stroke Rehabilitation Unit at Abingdon Community Hospital. You will lead on nursing team development, mentor staff, and drive best practice in a supportive team environment.

You will be a proactive role model with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of coordinating with the multidisciplinary team to plan and deliver high‑quality patient care and effective discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Current NMC RGN Registration with active status.
• Experience of Clinical Supervision within a ward/clinical setting.
• Evidence of ongoing development and education relevant to nursing practice.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Ward Manager and work with Deputy Ward Managers to maintain high quality, patient‑centred care.
• Support inpatient rehabilitation with advanced nursing skills and discharge planning.
• Lead and mentor nursing staff to promote best practice and professional development.
• Collaborate with the Multidisciplinary Team to optimise patient care and smooth transitions.
• Contribute to service development and initiatives to improve patient recovery outcomes.

Abingdon Community Hospital is looking to recruit a Clinical Development Nurse to join their wonderfully supportive and friendly team on the Oxfordshire Stroke Rehabilitation Unit

You will be passionate about supporting and leading on our nursing team's professional and clinical development to enable them to develop and advance within their roles whilst being a proactive role model to influence and support, therefore excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

Main duties of the job

• As an experienced Nurse, you will be part of the Senior Ward Team, assisting the Ward Manger and working collaboratively with the Deputy Ward Managers to ensure a high-quality patient focused service is provided.


• Our inpatient ward provides rehabilitation care along with more advanced sub-acute nursing skills and complex discharge planning.


• We believe in developing our staff and have training opportunities available to help you nourish and grow in this role. Our team values everyone's contributions and we are always looking at new initiatives to help our patient's recovery.


• Leading the registered and unregistered nursing staff in support of their professional development and in the promotion of best practice. Ensuring that a responsive high-quality patient focused service is delivered


• Working effectively and in partnership with key members of the Multidisciplinary Team in the hospital and locality to promote and facilitate effective patient care and discharge.
