Job summary

Hamberley Care Homes is seeking a Deputy Manager for Caddington Grove, a luxury care home in Dunstable providing residential, dementia and nursing care. You will lead clinical and care teams, supervise staff, and participate in quality assurance and policy reviews as required.

The successful applicant will be a Registered Nurse with an NMC pin and post-registration experience, with people management skills and a collaborative approach to delivering outstanding resident care.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with a valid NMC Pin and post-registration experience.
  • Experience managing or mentoring staff.
  • Experience as a Senior Nurse or staff nurse in a Care Home is desirable.
  • Confident communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Uphold Hamberley values and lead care teams.
  • Provide leadership and supervision for clinical and care staff as directed by the Home Manager.
  • Be on-call according to home needs and Manager requirements.
  • Devise and deliver training modules to improve care delivery.
  • Provide feedback to the Home Manager on staff development.
  • Support the Home Manager with clinical aspects and liaise with commissioners.
  • Lead team and clinical review meetings.
  • Collaborate with Home Manager and QA to maintain safe practice and respond to complaints.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Upholding the values of Hamberley Care Homes and leading the Care teams.
  • Providing leadership, support and supervision for clinical and care staff as advised by the Home Manager.
  • On call duties according to the needs of the home and Home Manager.
  • Within scope of practice and knowledge, researching, devising and delivering written and verbal training modules and workshops to improve delivery of care.
  • Providing feedback to Home Manager on any areas of staff improvement.
  • Supporting the Home Manager with clinically related aspects of the home including, assessments of potential residents, liaising with commissioners and stakeholders.
  • Leading team and clinical review meetings.
  • Working with the Home Manager and QA teams to ensure effective and safe clinical practice is maintained. Carrying out investigations and responding to any complaints or concerns.

We are recruiting for a Deputy manager to join our dynamic team. The successful applicant will be/have:

  • Registered Nurse with valid NMC Pin and demonstrable post registration experience
  • Managing or mentoring experience
  • Previous experience working as a Senior Nurse or staff nurse or registered nurse in a Care Home environment is desirable
  • People Management experience
  • Possess committed and organised approach
  • A confident communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills
