Job summary

Langdon House Care Home in Cambridge is seeking a Clinical Deputy Manager to support the General Manager in leading the care home team and delivering relationship-centred care for residents.

Langdon House is part of Athena Care Homes, a family-run group with seven homes in East Anglia. The role includes a 37.5-hour week, salary up to £40,000, and a comprehensive induction with generous holiday allowance.

Qualifications

• Experience in a management or leadership role within a care home.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the care home team to deliver high quality, relationship-centred care.
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and best practice guidelines; proactively manage risks.
• Develop care plans to meet residents’ changing physical, social and psychological needs.
• Supervise staff, allocate work and ensure rotas support smooth operations.
• Support the General Manager to drive quality care and meet financial targets.

Job description

As the Clinical Deputy Manager at Langdon House Care Home, you will be responsible for supporting the General Manager in leading the care home team to deliver high quality relationship centred care for our residents.

About Langdon House Care Home

Langdon House is an exceptional residential care home in Cambridge. At Langdon House we pride ourselves on our family-feel, attractive gardens and providing outstanding care to each of our residents.

We're based in a quiet nook in Chesterton on the north eastern side of Cambridge, three miles from the city centre. Our home offers fantastic 24-hour care to up to 51 residents.

About the role

Championing independence and personal choice whilst developing care plans to meet our residents changing physical, social and psychological needs whilst building on the positive reputation of the Home.

Salary

Up to £40,000 per annum.

Shift Pattern

37.5 hours per week, worked across Monday to Sunday.

Home Location

20 Union Lane, Chesterton, Cambridge, CB4 1QB - 3 miles from the city centre.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory and best practice guidelines ensuring all risks are proactively managed and issues identified, investigated and resolved.
• Ensure the delivery of quality care continually assessing our residents’ needs and wishes, developing the service to enhance their quality of life.
• Promote high standards of care for your team, actively seeking ways to improve levels of service.
• Take a leadership role for the team, ensuring all staff are supervised appropriately and rotas are in place to enable the smooth, efficient running of the business.
• Be responsible for supervising staff, allocating work, encouraging staff development and ensuring Athena policies are followed.

Training, Skills & Experience Required

• Experience in a management or leadership role within a care home.
• Holds an NVQ level 3 or 5 in Health & Social Care.
• Proven track record for leading, empowering, supporting & motivating a team.
• Proven experience of delivering quality care and achieving financial targets.
• Good understanding of clinical governance and CQC regulatory framework.
