The London Therapy Clinic (TLTC) is a new wellbeing clinic situated just outside of London in Sevenoaks. We are looking to recruit a skilled and personable team of Psychologists, to bring and grow their own private practice under the umbrella of The London Therapy Clinic.

TLTC is dedicated to its therapists and is committed to making sure that despite our therapists being independent practitioners they are also part of a wider team at TLTC. We want to look after our therapists like they look after their clients. To help do this the clinic therefore commits to:

  • a supportive team around them (monthly meetings encouraged and designed for open conversation)
  • a flexible therapist fee pricing schedule to meet their own expectations (please note there are set minimum requirements for this, as per job spec)
  • to carry the load of all administrative activities, including booking and invoicing

TLTC is dedicated to its clients, and takes pride in working to improve their emotional wellbeing. Therapists at TLTC need to be passionate about the wellness field and committed to their personal and professional development and achieve this through further study, teaching, research and clinical supervision.

Role: Consultant Psychologists, Psychotherapists and Counsellors Minimum commitment: one clinic of 5 hours

Whilst business grows we ask that our Psychologists commit to at least one clinic of 5 hours per week. With the view to expanding this commitment down the line.

Role of Consultant Therapist

You will be an independent practitioner, The London Therapy Clinic will supply room rental & administrative services (including client referrals, diary management and invoicing) relating to your work and peer supervision if desired. Your role will be:

  • To independently manage your counselling caseload.
  • To see clients at our Sevenoaks location (and where necessary be amenable to online appointments)
  • To work under your chosen theoretical approach and within your professional body’s ethical framework (BPS/UKCP/BACP/BABCP)
  • To be available, to begin with, for a minimum of 5 hours per week for client work, with a view to growing this as the business grows
  • To conduct your own initial assessments for referred clients and from that (and further assessment meetings if required) to determine whether you will take on the client. If not, you may wish to recommend a different therapist or an alternative treatment (psychiatric, detox centre, GP etc).
  • To enter client appointments in the online diary after that day’s clinic
  • To update the practice administrator about clients who do not continue for whatever reason, and to notify the administrator of any upcoming spaces to be filled.
  • To give notice to clients of upcoming breaks, other absences, or delayed attendances.
  • To undergo regular supervision whether external or through The London Therapy Clinic as required by BPS/UKCP/BACP/BABCP ethical framework.
  • To liaise with your supervisor if complications arise in the treatment.
  • To keep your own notes/records in accordance with guidelines of BPS/UKCP/BACP/BABCP.
  • To commit to either using TLTC terms and conditions or to devise your own terms which will be shared with clients.
  • To submit your own taxes on a self‑employed basis.
  • To have up‑to‑date personal indemnity insurance and BPS/BACP/UKCP/BABCP accreditation. To supply TLTC with an up‑to‑date copy of each.
  • To arrive for clients at least 10 minutes before the appointment time and dress appropriately.
  • To check email/internet on the day of work to see final appointments booked.
  • To take care of keys and other property of TLTC.
  • Not to use the TLTC logo and to respect intellectual property rights. Not to set up a similar counselling practice.

Initially your take‑home pay will be staged as follows:

  • £85 for individuals referred through The London Therapy Clinic
  • £90 for individuals referred by yourself
