A leading healthcare provider in London is seeking a part-time Clinical Psychologist for a fixed term of 12 months. The role focuses on supporting individuals following a first episode of psychosis, ensuring quality of life while working in partnership with service users and other healthcare professionals. Applicants must hold a doctorate in clinical psychology and be registered with HCPC. This role offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to the mental health of the community while receiving specialist supervision and support.
EQUIP offers a service to adult residents of Hackney and the City aged 18–65 following a first episode of psychosis. The team works closely with the Early Detection Service, Heads Up, to support people at risk of developing psychosis. The team handles diagnostic uncertainty and focuses on addressing associated distress and disability.
The purpose is to minimise the risk of future breakdowns and maximise quality of life for the individual by working in active partnership with service users, carers, voluntary and community groups, and statutory services. The post holder will work alongside clinical psychologists already in post to support individuals and their families in line with NICE guidelines for psychosis and schizophrenia, and will be jointly responsible for operational delivery of psychology provision with senior psychologists. The post holder will receive specialist supervision and support from the wider City and Hackney Psychology department.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975. A submission for Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service will be required to check for any previous convictions.
