You will be supporting the Clinical Coding Manager and Clinical Coding Operational Lead in ensuring effective service delivery for the department.

The role will involve responsibilities for mentoring and training of Trainee Clinical Coders, day to day supervision of the Clinical Coding Team, ensuring all monthly mandated coding deadlines are met and helping to provide the Trust with high quality coded data. You will collaborate with multiple teams, including the clinical teams and other relevant personnel to ensure coding accuracy and integrity are maintained at the highest level.

Responsibilities

• Act as a line manager for effective staff leadership in relation to day-to-day management of the teams’ workloads, staff annual leave requests, sickness monitoring and individual performance reviews (IPR’s).
• Provide training and mentorship to the clinical coding team members, where checking, validating and informal auditing may be necessary.
• To communicate complex coding standards, rules and conventions to clinical coding staff and the wider Trust. Presenting this information to large staff groups such as the Junior Doctor inductions.
