Job Summary

INTERVIEW DATE 13TH JANUARY 2026

Clinical Coder & Administration (carrying out the day to day coding of clinical documentation)

  • 37.5 hours worked over 4 1/2 days
  • 6 weeks annual leave
  • NHS Pension
  • DOOB day – additional day off for birthday
Responsibilities
  • Accurately clinically code data on the clinical system into the patient record
  • Identify relevant clinical information documented in patient correspondence, code appropriately and complete any detailed action
  • Input and extract data as required to support practice reports
  • File and store records as required
  • Photocopy documentation as required
  • Action all incoming correspondence, emails and mail in a timely manner
  • Scan patient‑related documentation and attach scanned documents to patients health care records
  • Input data into patients health care records as necessary
  • Answer incoming telephone calls, transfer calls or deal with the callers request appropriately
  • Carry out system searches as requested
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
  • Support the recall team that manages Long Term conditions review system
Secondary responsibilities
  • Review and update the practice coding policy as required (in conjunction with the Senior GP Partner)
  • Partake in audit as directed by the audit lead
  • Support reception staff, providing cover during staff absences
  • Book appointments
Qualifications
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent in Mathematics and English
Desirable
  • NHQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Administration
  • EMIS clinical system
