NHS Fife Psychology Service is a large, friendly and supportive place to work. We provide a service to the whole of Fife that includes all the major clinical specialties. We have an excellent reputation for innovation and developing staff.

We would like you to join our Adult Mental Health Psychology Team. We are looking for people with initiative and enthusiasm who will contribute to service redesign and development to best meet the needs of our patients. There will be opportunities to develop your clinical expertise and for research and service evaluation to support this programme of work.

This is a split post across the Dunfermline and West Fife AMH Locality service, and the Unscheduled Care Psychological Interventions Team (UCAT-PI). This post will provide clinical sessions based within our Dunfermline and West Fife AMH locality service, delivering a range of interventions within a tiered approach to service delivery and contributing to the transformation of psychological care across Fife. The post will also provide sessions Fife wide in the UCAT-PI Service, providing brief Psychological interventions (4 sessions) to those who have presented to UCAT services in crisis. Referrals come from the UCAT team.

You will have access to regular clinical and managerial supervision as well as opportunities for additional peer support. We have an active in-house CPD programme as well as access to external CPD to support service developments.

Informal Enquiries: Potential applicants are encouraged to contact Dr Rowena McElhinney, Consultant Clinical Psychologist, by email rowena.mcelhinney@nhs.scot or telephone 01383 565403 for an informal discussion about this post.

Fixed Term/Secondment Opportunity

Existing permanent employees must first discuss this opportunity with their substantive line manager. The secondment policy can be found on the NHS Fife Blink hub. If you do not have approval for a secondment from your current line manager, you will not be able to progress your application for a fixed term post. External applicants, with continuous NHS Service, must also have in place a secondment agreement, from their existing board to apply for this post.

A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment.

To work in the United Kingdom, there is a legal requirement for an individual to demonstrate that they have the relevant permission to work in the country. This permission is, without exception, granted by the UK Visa and Immigrations Service.

It is ESSENTIAL that you have checked that you either already have an appropriate right to work in the UK or that the post would be eligible to be sponsored BEFORE submitting your application form.
