Position

We are seeking a competent and professional Clinical Advisor (Nurse or Paramedic) to support our clinical team. You'll need to have a minimum of 2 years post qualification experience with experience in clinical advisory, triage, and case management roles.

This will initially be on a fixed term contract for 6 months which may lead to a permanent role.

You'll be working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm. This position is offering £35,000 per annum pro rata.

Role purpose

The purpose of this role is to manage the clinical inbox by triaging, reviewing, and coordinating all medical queries, ensuring accurate and timely progression of cases. The Clinical Advisor will gather relevant clinical information, liaise with clients and healthcare providers, and escalate complex cases where required. The role ensures that all necessary information is collected to allow cases to proceed within agreed service level agreements (SLAs), while maintaining high standards of clinical governance and client satisfaction.

Duties include
  • Manage the medical inbox, triaging and prioritising incoming clinical queries.
  • Review medical reports and identify areas requiring clarification or additional information.
  • Liaise with healthcare providers to request and obtain additional clinical information.
  • Communicate with clients to clarify medical reports and respond to clinical queries.
  • Prepare clinical summaries or briefing notes to assist senior clinicians in decision-making.
  • Escalate complex or high-risk cases to senior clinicians as appropriate.
  • Work closely with Operations Coordinators to ensure internal systems are accurately updated with current case information.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of all communications and actions within case notes.
  • Monitor case timelines, ensuring all actions are completed within SLA requirements.
  • Actively contributes to improving processes related to clinical information management.
  • Uphold confidentiality, data protection, and company policies.
Qualifications, Training and Experience
  • Registered Healthcare Professional (NMC, HCPC) – Essential
  • Minimum 2 years post-registration clinical experience – Essential
  • Experience in clinical advisory, triage, and case management roles – Desirable
  • Understanding of medical report interpretation and clinical terminology – Essential
Experience and knowledge
  • Strong experience in reviewing and interpreting medical documentation.
  • Experience in professional liaison with healthcare providers and clients.
  • Knowledge of case management processes and documentation standards.
  • Familiarity with working within service level agreements and clinical governance frameworks.
  • Understanding data protection (GDPR) in relation to clinical records.
Skills and abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both clinical and non-clinical audiences.
  • High level of clinical judgment with the ability to recognise when to escalate cases.
  • Meticulous attention to detail when reviewing medical information.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Confident in using IT systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Professional, proactive, and adaptable approach to work.
