Job summary

NHS Trust is seeking a venepuncture support role within a practice multidisciplinary team. The post-holder will perform venepuncture for the registered patient population, support the nursing team, and contribute to clinical governance and quality improvement.

Under supervision, you will obtain consent, maintain records on the IT system, and ensure samples are correctly labelled, packaged and transported to the laboratory.

• Consent before collecting blood samples.
• Maintain accurate patient records on the clinical IT system.
• Ensure specimens are correctly labelled, packaged and stored.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient consent before blood collection and perform venepuncture per practice protocols.
• Maintain specimen log and ensure timely lab submission and correct labelling.
• Liaise with NHS Trust laboratory staff and assist nursing team as required.
