Job summary

The Wellcome Trust is a global charitable foundation funding science, policy, and partnerships to improve health. This Research Manager role sits in the Mitigation Team of the Climate and Health Research Programme, focusing on the health co-benefits of climate mitigation and LMIC contexts.

You will develop and manage funding for research projects, convene and disseminate learning, and lead portfolio initiatives across land-use, energy transition, and other priority areas while advancing

Qualifications

• Minimum Criteria: breadth of research expertise in climate mitigation nexus of land-use, climate and health, and/or Health Impact Assessments (HIA) with LMIC context.
• Experience/knowledge of universities, funders, and other scientific and research organisations.
• Ability to communicate complex information across varied settings and seniority levels.
• Well‑developed writing skills with ability to synthesise information clearly.
• Experience/knowledge of managing projects in academic, charity, or industry settings.

Responsibilities

• Deliver impactful work by providing technical expertise across expert consultations, funding decisions, and producing reports and reviews.
• Contribute to Climate & Health portfolio insights and shared knowledge across Wellcome.
• Build partnerships with grant holders, monitor research progress, promote diversity and inclusion across funded projects.
• Engage external experts via scoping interviews, workshops, and selecting advisors for input into decision-making.
• Lead initiatives related to land-use, climate and health, LMIC contexts, and health co-benefits within mitigation.
