Data Centre M& E Shift Engineer – Client Direct – West London (Hayes)

Continental Shift Pattern – £53,000 Salary – Annual Bonus – Healthcare – Training

Job Overview

Our client is a global data‑centre organisation operating across the USA, Europe and Asia, owning its facilities and self‑delivering M&E/critical services. They are looking to strengthen their existing engineering team with a multi‑skilled M&E services engineer (Electrical or Mechanical bias) based in the Heathrow/West London region.

Working Conditions

• 12‑hour continental shift pattern (rotating days and nights)
• 24/7 coverage to maintain 100% site uptime

Key Responsibilities
  • Electrical & Mechanical fault‑finding across single & three‑phase power, motors, pumps, air handling & fan coil units, BMS operation, water treatment, 1st‑line chiller & boiler faults, diesel generators (including on‑load tests), HV & LV distribution (switching, shut‑downs), static & rotary UPS systems, VESDA, close‑control AC units, etc.
  • Plan and execute reactive maintenance within a commercial building services environment.
  • Support data‑centre operations with 24/7 on‑site engineering coverage.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Fully qualified Electrical or Mechanical engineer (ideally via a full apprenticeship).
  • At least 5 years of experience delivering planned and reactive maintenance in a commercial building services environment.
  • Experience in M&E systems within similar or adjacent environments (pharmaceutical, healthcare, corporate HQs) is highly regarded.
  • Additional training benefits: LV/HV authorisation, 2391, F‑Gas, Mechanical AP status, etc.
