Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment Limited is recruiting a Client Relationship Manager (Practice) in Carlisle. The role offers a salary band of 44,000–50,000 with an additional 17% bonus, delivering a package of 52,000–58,000 plus progression to directorship, training and pension, with flexible hours.

You will join an established accounting practice with a long history and 8 offices around Cumbria, contributing to client service across diverse industries while maintaining high standards and strong staff

Qualifications

• Qualified or qualified by experience accountant with practice experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience planning, preparing and reviewing financial accounts with budgets.
• Experience in VAT returns and basic tax computations.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and review financial accounts with clear files and documentation.
• Highlight barriers to completing work within budget and identify income opportunities.
• Resolve client queries before client meetings with the Portfolio Manager/Director.
• Prepare Business Tax Computations (Income Tax) for review.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns for clients.
• Maintain client accounting records and management accounts information.

This role would suit a qualified or qualified by experience accountant who has excellent interpersonal skills and is looking for a client facing role in a practice that offers progression to directorship.

The role:

• To plan, prepare and review financial accounts, and present a completed and well documented file within agreed timescales and budgets
• To highlight and discuss barriers to work being completed within budget or opportunities for generating income
• To clear outstanding queries with the client before discussing the file and final accounts with the Client Portfolio Manager/Managing Director/Partner, prior to the client meeting
• To prepare Business Tax Computations (Income Tax) for review
• To prepare/ensure the preparation and submission of VAT returns on behalf of clients
• To maintain/ensure that clients' accounting records and management accounts information is maintained as required
