Job Advert Job Summary The Engagement Manager plays a key role in managing positive relations with external organisations and communities during the construction of the Project. They will be responsible to support the Head of Engagement, and the wider project team in managing relationships with key stakeholders, local residents and businesses, achieving our commitments and maintaining the project's reputation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders and communities within a defined area and deliver a programme of engagement as set out in the Local Area Engagement Plan and Works Information, co-ordinating with project teams and other contractors across the project campus as appropriate.
- Manage and investigate complaints and enquiries received directly by the project or via helpdesk.
- Ensure compliance/progress in achieving specific Undertakings & Assurances and project commitments to engage with communities and stakeholders during the design and construction of the project, including provision of evidence of compliance.
- Initiate & regularly update customised stakeholder / community / project engagement plans.
- Support community investment activity and the development. Delivery of the commitments contained within the Community Investment Plan, and work with the Skills, Education and Employment (SEE) lead to ensure that schools and young people are effectively engaged.
- Ensure that the Stakeholder Record Management system is regularly updated and provides a clear summary of current discussions with external stakeholders.
- Advise the wider project team on the concerns of key stakeholders and communities and ensure compliance / progress in achieving our Undertakings & Assurances/project commitments.
- Chair, organise and manage meetings and working groups/forums and present updates on progress, facilitate regular and effective dialogue and address issues raised.
- Write copy for community e/bulletins and newsletters.
- Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, inclusion and work with the EDI lead in promoting fairness, dignity and respect in the treatment of everyone engaged on the Project.
- Build new relationships with local organisations and businesses particularly less well represented groups.
- Draft reports on specific community or stakeholder issues and risks as part of the monthly management reporting cycle.
