Job summary

Autograph Specialist Recruitment Limited in Cardiff is seeking a Client Manager / Senior Accountant to lead client relationships, manage a portfolio of SME and owner-managed business clients, and deliver high-quality accounting work. The role blends technical accounting with advisory input and a collaborative team culture.

You will mentor junior staff, drive accuracy, and support business advisory services in a supportive, modern Cardiff office with hybrid working options.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a portfolio of limited company and SME clients across varied sectors.
• Ability to prepare and review statutory accounts, management accounts and financial statements.
• Experience completing corporate and personal tax returns and advising on tax planning opportunities.
• Strong bookkeeping oversight incl. VAT and cloud-based reporting.

Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of limited company and SME clients across varied sectors
• Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts, management accounts and financial statements
• Completing corporate and personal tax returns and advising clients on tax planning opportunities
• Overseeing bookkeeping, VAT returns, and cloud-based reporting (primarily Xero)
• Providing proactive business advice and acting as a trusted advisor to clients
• Supporting, mentoring, and reviewing the work of junior staff to ensure accuracy and growth
• Building long‑lasting client relationships through exceptional service and clear communication
