Job summary

Headstar in East Yorkshire is seeking an experienced Client Manager to take ownership of a varied portfolio within a growing independent practice. This role offers genuine client ownership, a clear path to partnership, and the chance to mentor junior team members.

Location Hessle with hybrid working (office-based with one day at home). Salary £45,000–£50,000, plus bonus opportunities and potential commission on client introductions. Start ASAP, full-time with part-time considered.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualified.
• Strong all-round accountancy practice background.
• Experience preparing accounts through to finalisation.
• Comfortable managing client relationships independently.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Desire to progress and take on increasing responsibility.
• Trusts and estates experience beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Accounts Preparation: Preparing and reviewing accounts through to finalisation.
• Tax Compliance: Personal and corporate tax work across a varied client base.
• Management Accounts: Producing management information and supporting clients with financial reporting.
• Client Management: Acting as a trusted adviser and primary point of contact.
• Team Development: Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team.
• Advisory Exposure: Broad exposure across different areas of practice including trusts and estates work.

The Role
