Job summary

CMA Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Client Manager to take ownership of a varied client portfolio and act as a trusted adviser within a Hampshire practice. You will oversee accounts, taxes and wider business matters while maintaining personal client relationships with direct access to the director.

Are you an experienced practice professional looking for a Client Manager role where you can genuinely take ownership of your portfolio and build long-term relationships with your clients? This is an excellent opportunity to join a small, established accountancy practice in Hamble-le-Rice, Hampshire offering plenty of autonomy, direct access to the director and the chance to become a trusted adviser to a varied portfolio of small and medium-sized businesses. Working with clients across a range of interesting sectors, including marine and medical aesthetics, you will take a broad view of their accounts, tax and wider business affairs. This would suit someone who enjoys getting to know their clients, providing a personal service and having the freedom to manage relationships rather than simply focusing on year-end compliance.

What will the Client Manager role involve?

• Taking ownership of a varied client portfolio, becoming a trusted point of contact and developing strong relationships throughout the year
• Preparing and overseeing statutory accounts, corporation tax, personal tax, VAT and CIS work
• Managing workflow, information gathering and deadlines to ensure clients receive a responsive and high-quality service
• Helping clients understand their accounts and tax position, explaining complex matters clearly and identifying opportunities to add value
• Working closely with bookkeeping and payroll colleagues, reviewing work and collaborating with the wider team on more complex client matters

Suitable Candidate for the Client Manager vacancy:

• ACA, ACCA, QBE, AAT, MAAT, FCCA or FCA qualified
• Strong and recent experience gained within a UK accountancy practice
• Confident across statutory accounts, corporation tax, personal tax and VAT, including partial exemption
• Comfortable managing your own portfolio and competing deadlines while maintaining excellent standards of accuracy and client service
• A confident and personable communicator who enjoys building trusted, long-term client relationships

Additional benefits and information for the role of Client Manager:

• Salary of £44,000-£55,000, dependent on experience
• Discretionary, non-target-driven bonus equivalent to one month’s salary, paid in two instalments
• Hybrid working of up to two agreed fixed days per week may be available following successful completion of probation
