Job summary

Cowgills, part of the Sumer Group, is seeking a Client Manager in Bolton to lead a portfolio of regular clients and deliver statutory accounts, management accounts and tax returns. You will review work, train juniors, and collaborate with the division manager and directors to drive client success.

The role requires ACCA or ICAEW qualification with 3–5 years PQE, strong VAT and tax experience, and solid Excel proficiency. Xero and Sage experience are preferred in a busy accountancy practice.

Qualifications

• ACCA or ICAEW qualified with 3–5 years’ post-qualification experience.
• Experience preparing statutory accounts under FRS 102 Section 1A.
• Experience with corporation tax and personal tax.
• Experience producing management accounts.
• Solid understanding of VAT.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Experience using Xero and Sage.
• Experience training and managing juniors.
• Strong organisational skills.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of regular clients on monthly, quarterly and annual cycles.
• Take responsibility for delivering statutory accounts (FRS 102 Section 1A) and management accounts.
• Prepare and deliver corporation tax and personal tax returns.
• Assist with basic client tax planning.
• Review the work of junior team members, train and manage them.
• Work closely with the division manager and directors.

Beyond the regular portfolio, you will be involved in project work including:

• Forecasting
• Cashflows
• Providing financial and tax due diligence

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• ACCA or ICAEW qualified, with 3-5 years' post-qualification experience.
• Experienced in preparing statutory accounts under FRS 102 Section 1A.
