Job summary

Focus Search and Selection is seeking an R&D Technical Consultant for our Manchester office. The role is office-based, full-time, and involves working with clients and technical professionals to translate complex projects into clear reports.

You will lead technical discussions, assess qualifying R&D activity, and produce robust reports while managing multiple engagements with strong attention to detail and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discussions with clients to understand R&D projects and activities.
• Investigate technical challenges, uncertainties, experimentation and development work.
• Assess whether projects contain qualifying R&D activity.
• Produce high-quality technical reports based on findings.
• Challenge and probe information to ensure claims are robust and accurately represented.
• Build strong relationships with clients as a trusted technical contact.
