Job summary

Morgan Stanley Hedge Fund Accounting - Client Facing Manager role in London is a senior associate position within the Fund Services Division. You will act as a primary contact for hedge fund clients, managing relationships and delivering updates on funds and market developments.

Responsibilities include overseeing client onboarding, fund setup, reconciliations, sign-off on valuations/NAV, and coordinating with global teams to ensure controls and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of complex hedge fund and/or private equity strategies and investor level accounting concepts.
• Knowledge of different product types, including but not limited to derivatives, fixed income, options, equity instruments, etc.
• Understanding of GAAP and/or IFRS financial statement reporting requirements, including strong understanding of hedge fund and/or private equity structures.
• Strong team, interpersonal and problem-solving skills, communication skills (both written and verbal) and relationship management skills.
• Undergraduate degree (i.e. Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent)

Responsibilities

• Act as primary point of contact for hedge fund clients & manage approximately 5 client relationships
• Review and understand key fund organizational documents and ensure fund setup is consistent with the fund’s documents
• Coordinate with MSFS’ offshore operations and clients to resolve trade and accounting breaks
• Review position and cash reconciliations between clients and their custodians
• Review and approve portfolio valuations & NAV to ensure compliance with Fund governing documents prior to distribution to clients and ensure client approval prior to distribution to investors/third parties
• Idea generation and ongoing assessment and improvement of the operational service model
• Coordinate with global colleagues across various groups to identify and implement solutions to problems
• Act as a conduit between clients and their custodians/prime brokers
• Review draft annual financial statements and coordinate yearend audit with client and their independent auditors
