Astra Group is one of the UK's leading sign makers. Established in Manchester in 1984, we have a wealth of experience producing world-class signage for various sectors, particularly hospitality, travel and transportation, retail, leisure, and international events.
You will be responsible for revenue and profit and assist the Head of Business Development in taking our business into its next growth stage.
You will have a proven history of demonstrating an empathetic sales approach to new and existing customers, strategic planning, building strong customer relationships, being goal-oriented, and using market knowledge to specify strategies and define opportunities.
Role Responsibilities
- Focus on forging strategic partnerships and key account management with new and existing clients.
- Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and retention.
- Working closely with the Sales Team, Projects and Technical Delivery teams, enabling them to meet their commercial objectives by developing and providing appropriate tools, materials and presentations to achieve and exceed customer expectations.
- Confident in conducting cold calls to potential new clients and nurturing warm relationships to develop further opportunities.
- Continuously analyse the competitive environment and market trends to ensure Astra Group is aware of future opportunities and their alignment with the company's growth strategy.
- Respond to formal tenders, ensuring that all information is provided promptly as required within the tender process.
- Acting as a key point of contact between customers and companies.
- Negotiating terms of sales and agreements, and closing sales with customers.
- Gathering market intelligence and customer information to determine customer requirements and timescales for delivery/implementation.
- Responding to customer queries and overcoming any hurdles or objections to get them to make a purchase.
- Creating proposal documents as part of the formal bidding procedure.
- Providing customers with detailed and accurate quotations and cost calculations in line with the company’s authorised margins and pricing policy.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in target markets.
- Develop and implement strategies to penetrate new markets and expand our customer base, nurturing long-term customer loyalty and business value.
- Using the CRM system to develop and manage a robust sales pipeline to meet and exceed team and individual sales targets.
General Responsibilities
- Define and achieve budgets and forecasts with clear, demonstrable plans to achieve a healthy ROI for all activities.
- Monitor and report performance against budget, implementing corrective action where necessary.
- An understanding and ambition to develop all aspects of Architectural, Bespoke & Wayfinding Signage, Digital OOH Signage and Print & POS solutions.
- Assist in developing and implementing the annual sales and marketing strategy aligned with the business plan.
The Ideal Candidate
- A proven track record in sales and business development in a similar position.
- Effective time management and delegation skills.
- Facilitate the effective handover process and ownership of projects.
- Able to produce sales and marketing documentation to a high standard.
- Able to work with Google Drive, Microsoft Office, etc.
- The ability and presence to liaise with clients, external and project consultants.
- Must have at least 3 years of sales experience in a similar background.

Pay: £40,000.00 per year
