Team/Role Overview

The EMEA Regulatory Operations Control team performs a key role in compiling, calculating, and monitoring all UK FCA Client Asset / Money submissions. The group also completes the Client Money and Asset Returns (CMAR) for the Citi UK FCA regulated entities. The group acts as central point of contact within O&T for Client Money and Asset issues enabling transparency and escalation and is responsible for chairing the monthly O&T Client Asset Forum in addition to participating in Business aligned forums. This role is within the Regulatory Control team as part of the Belfast Operations, with key responsibilities for Client Money and Assets. The team is engaged with business partners, Technology, Compliance with key responsibilities for Client Assets including but not limited to the governance and oversight of O&T processes and procedures as they relate to Client Money and Assets.

What you’ll do
  • Work closely with O&T businesses and act as a point of contact for Client money & asset related matters
  • Assist with the build out of a Client Asset governance structure for O&T
  • Represent Regulatory Operations at the various monthly CA Forum meetings
  • Engage with internal and external auditors on Client Asset related matters
  • Partner with O&T, Client Asset and depository protection Office and Compliance implementing changes required as a result of internal or external audit reviews
  • Work with Compliance and the Client Asset & depositor protection office in reviewing current and new business initiatives while adhering to Client Asset regulations. Analyzing, interpretation and providing executive summaries for key stakeholders and detailed impact analysis as required
  • Attend business control forums providing appropriate challenge as it relates to Client Assets
  • Support the Client Asset (CASS) functions performed by Regulatory Operations, escalating issues to management where appropriate, challenging issues and understanding root cause analysis and resolution
  • Identification of areas for improving existing processes and controls, developing and enhancing Client Asset knowledge within Regulatory Operations
  • Support the Managers Control Assessment for Client Assets within Regulatory Operations
  • Engage in key business initiatives, liaising with strategic change management team in providing Business Requirements to enable testing of required change and confirming impact to team’s processes
What we need from you
  • University degree and/or relevant professional qualifications.
  • Proven experience in Operations, or in a Control or Policy function
  • Previous Client Asset / CASS experience
  • A level of understanding of Client Asset regulation and it's purpose
  • Self-starter, able to work on initiative and organize themselves well with a strategic mindset
  • Pro‑active, likely to instigate change
  • Team player – Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Able to build effective working relationships quickly and maintain them
