Cobalt Recruitment is seeking a Client Accounts Assistant with a strong Treasury focus to oversee bank reconciliations, payments, and daily cash activity while supporting client accounting for a portfolio of clients.
You’ll be part-qualified in ACCA or CIMA, with working knowledge of reconciliations, cash processing, and Excel. Hybrid working and a flexible benefits package are included to support the role.
This role has a significant Treasury focus, offering responsibility for bank reconciliations, payments and day-to-day cash activity alongside broader client accounting responsibilities. It is an opportunity for someone working towards an ACCA or CIMA qualification to gain further ownership within a supportive finance environment.
Our client is an established property organisation operating within a partnership structure, creating a collaborative environment focused on shared success and long-term development.
The benefits include:
Hybrid working.
Competitive annual leave allowance.
Holiday purchase of up to five additional days.
Salary sacrifice electric car scheme.
Health cash plans.
Cycle-to-work scheme.
Flexible benefits.
The Client Accounts Assistant will have oversight of key Treasury activities while supporting the accounting and reporting requirements of a portfolio of clients.
Responsibilities will include:
Taking responsibility for bank reconciliations and ensuring client funds are reconciled accurately.
Managing payment responsibilities, including preparing payment runs in line with contractual requirements and deadlines.
Overseeing day-to-day cash and banking activity across client accounts.
Allocating cash received from tenants.
Preparing monthly client accounts and reports.
Preparing funding requests and associated reconciliations.
Responding to relevant internal and external financial queries.
Supporting client accounting and finance projects where required.
The Client Accounts Assistant will therefore gain a combination of Treasury ownership and wider client accounting exposure, rather than focusing solely on transactional processing.
We are looking for someone who is part-qualified, or working towards becoming part-qualified, in ACCA or CIMA.
You will ideally bring:
Working knowledge of bank reconciliations and cash transaction processing.
Confidence managing payment responsibilities and maintaining accurate financial records.
Experience working within a finance environment with multiple stakeholders.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Good attention to detail and accuracy.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Client accounting experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
Property-sector experience would be advantageous but is not required.
This Client Accounts Assistant role could suit someone looking to develop their accounting career while gaining greater responsibility across Treasury, payments and client accounting.
The Client Accounts Assistant position offers a salary of £32,000, alongside hybrid working and a flexible benefits package.
