Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely completion of tasks set by Client Accounting Manager.
  • Prepare annual accounts within 12 months of year end.
  • Handle bookkeeping and client accounts preparation.
  • Report relevant MI to Client Accounting Manager.
  • Follow client accounts procedures.
  • Prepare Trust and Company accounts for complex clients.
  • Liaise with clients on accounts preparation.
  • Bookkeep client transactions accurately.
  • Ensure deadline compliance for accounts preparation.
  • Prepare management accounts and cash flow forecasts.

Skills

Experience of working within a Fiduciary environment
Strong technical accounting/bookkeeping skills

Description

Collas Crill Trust and Corporate Services delivers bespoke solutions throughout the lifecycle of wealth creation, preservation and succession. A period of significant growth has led to a requirement to further build our client accounting team, based across Guernsey and Jersey. This team is well-established, supportive and collaborative, and is looking for a self-motivated, engaged and hardworking accountant (qualified or part qualified).

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure workload as set out by Client Accounting Manager is completed in a timely manner to a high standard.
  • Ensure annual accounts are prepared within 12 months of the year end where possible.
  • Workload will include bookkeeping, trust and company client accounts preparation and additional ad hoc projects as defined from time to time.
  • Report the relevant MI to the Client Accounting Manager.
  • Follow client accounts procedures.
  • Prepare statutory and non-statutory Trust and Company accounts for key complex clients to a high standard and produce adequate working papers with back-up documentation.
  • Deal with any queries and follow up administrative action which may be required during and on completion of the accounts.
  • Liaise with high value clients and professionals both by telephone, e-mail and face to face on routine and complex matters in relation to accounts preparation.
  • Bookkeep all client transactions correctly into Acumen client ledgers & security/cash positions and reconcile regularly and in line with RCC requirements.
  • Ensure accounts preparation deadlines are met and expectations managed where accounts' production fall behind deadlines.
  • Attend periodic team meetings to ensure that workloads and priorities are clear, agreed and achievable for the team.
  • Prepare management accounts, ad hoc reporting, cash flow forecasting and any other financial reporting requirements.
  • Additional tasks and responsibilities to support the wider team.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Applicants will ideally be a fully or part qualified Accountant.

Essential skills that we are seeking are:

  • Experience of working within a Fiduciary environment
  • Strong technical accounting/bookkeeping skills
  • An ability to produce final accounts from ledgers and to understand the issues concerning accounting for Trusts and Corporate Vehicles
  • An ability to work under pressure, to achieve fixed deadlines
  • An ability to work with and for others as part of a team
  • An ability to communicate clearly
  • A good working knowledge of Securities and Investments and accounting treatments.
  • A good working knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel and fiduciary services software.
