A growing Accountancy practice in Leeds is seeking a motivated individual for a client-facing role. Responsibilities include preparing accounts, tax returns, and bookkeeping. E & M Talent have recently partnered with a growing, modern Accountancy practice based in Leeds in their search for a new member of their team.

This is a fast paced and growing practice that never stands still and is always looking at ways of becoming more efficient, especially as modern accounting technology improves.

This is a client facing role and you will be tasked with working across various areas of compliance and business advisory on a day-to-day basis, depending on deadlines and client requirements.

Duties will include:
  • Preparation of limited company, partnership and sole traders accounts for various sized clients
  • Preparing and submitting corporation tax returns.
  • Preparing capital allowances with relevant experience and knowledge of them.
  • Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns.
  • Preparing monthly/quarterly management accounts
  • Bookkeeping for partnerships and limited companies
  • Preparation of self-assessment tax returns and knowledge around this process and tax reliefs available

A working knowledge of Payroll will be beneficial although you wont be processing payroll.

Strong communication skills are essential in dealing with clients, HMRC and Companies House. There is likely to be opportunities to instruct and supervise trainees across the office.

You must be willing to advance your knowledge of accountancy tech and be willing to adapt the way you work inline with the advancing technologies as they appear.

This is a hybrid role with a requirement to be in the office 3 days per week.

Software

Excel, Sage Line 50, Xero, QBO, Tax Calc - all of these are preferable.
