A progressive accounting firm in the UK is looking for a Client Accountant to prepare statutory accounts and support various accounting tasks for SME clients. The ideal candidate will be ACA/ACCA qualified with strong technical knowledge and experience using accounting software. Qualifications

  • Practice trained accountant with ACCA/ACA or QBE experience.
  • Strong understanding of SME's accounting.
  • Comfortable providing practical, proactive advice to clients.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare FRS102(1A) and FRS105 statutory accounts for SME clients.
  • Support bookkeeping, VAT returns, and management accounts.
  • Assist with corporation tax computations and group accounts.
  • Liaise with clients and handle queries.
  • Supervise and review work of trainees.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance business performance.

Role Overview:
  • Prepare FRS102(1A) and FRS105 statutory accounts for SME clients
  • Support bookkeeping, VAT returns, and management accounts using Xero and Sage
  • Assist with basic corporation tax computations and group accounts
  • Liaise directly with clients, handling queries and providing practical, proactive advice
  • Supervise and review work of trainees, offering guidance and development support
  • Identify opportunities to enhance business performance
The Ideal Candidate:
  • ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent experience) with solid technical knowledge
  • Confident using Xero, Sage, QuickBooks and related accounting systems
  • Comfortable managing multiple assignments and deadlines
  • A self–starter who takes ownership and uses initiative
