Clerical Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and well‑organised individual to join the Specialised Cancer Services Booking Team at Weston Park Hospital.

The newly created team are responsible for the management of the Oncology outpatient appointments both here at Weston Park Hospital and across South Yorkshire and Chesterfield.

Working hours: 37.5 hours a week – Monday to Friday.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of this role include:

  • Managing the SCS outpatient waiting lists for both new and follow‑up patients.
  • Processing incoming referrals.
  • Booking clinic appointments, often ensuring they are in line with the patient’s treatment cycle.
  • Liaising with various different staff groups.
  • Monitoring and managing the team’s email inboxes.
  • Spoaking with patients on the phone – both incoming and outgoing calls.

Education and Qualifications
  • GCSE at Grade C/4 in English and Maths (or equivalent qualifications) or equivalent experience.
