Overview

Fixed term to cover maternity leave

We require a Clerical Officer to provide reception / clerical support within the Health Records Department at the Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline.

Responsibilities
  • Work within MIU Reception, providing front line service to patients arriving at MIU.
  • Responsible for recording patient attendance and admissions via Trakcare.
  • Deal with anxious and upset patients / relatives with empathy and professional customer service.
  • Carry out additional administrative tasks as part of daily routine.
  • Prepare and scan ED cards and upload to the clinical portal; maintain accuracy and attention to detail due to live clinical system uploads.
  • Adhoc duties as requested by Health Records Supervisors to ensure efficiency across the 24/7 Inpatient and Emergency team.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Relevant admin / clerical experience; ability to prioritise and manage day-to-day workload in a busy environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Educated to Standard Grade (or equivalent) with passes in English and Arithmetic.
  • Good keyboard/typing skills; ability to work on own initiative.
  • Good organisational & listening skills; flexible approach to working.
  • English language competency and communication skills sufficient to perform the role safely and effectively.
