An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 2 Clerical Officer to support the Therapies and Integrated Care Division. We are looking for someone who has a flexible approach to cover all aspects of the NHS at Home directorate administration. The role will be based at Ellesmere Port Hospital within the Rapid Response Team who provide a service 7 days a week.

To provide an effective, high quality administrative support service within the Rapid Response Team within NHS@Home directorate. You will report to a Team Coordinator. You will liaise with colleagues within COCH and/or CWP and external NHS organisations, other external agencies, patients etc. The post holder will be responsible for the day to day running of administrative duties within the office and the service that it provides.

Main duties will include responding to telephone enquiries from members of the Rapid Response Team, other professionals, patients and their families, ordering of equipment and procurement, word processing, flow charts, Excel and Power point, therefore you would need to be proficient in these computer skills. Knowledge of EPR and EMIS would also be an advantage however full training would be given if you have not previously worked with these system. Applicants should have a professional and pleasant manner at all times and be enthusiastic about the service provided by the NHS@Home directorate. You will also be someone who uses initiative, has common sense, has good communication and strong organisational skills.

The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides services to West Cheshire and to Welsh patients covered by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. The Trust works collaboratively within the wider Cheshire and Merseyside Health and Care Partnership. Its services are provided from three locations:

  • The Countess of Chester Hospital: providing 438 general and acute beds
  • Ellesmere Port Hospital: providing 56 beds as a rehabilitation, intermediate and outpatient facility
  • Tarporley War Memorial Hospital: a base for community services which serve the local rural population.

The Trust employs over 5916 staff (headcount) which includes temporary bank staff and provides acute emergency and elective services, primary care direct access services and obstetric services to a population of approximately 411,000. This includes 361,000 residents in Chester and West Cheshire which includes Ellesmere Port and Neston as well as the Deeside area of Flintshire which has a population of approximately 50,000.
