Job Summary

We are recruiting for a Clerical Radiology Department Assistant who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

We have a vacancy for a Radiology Department Assistant to support the administration services in the department. This is a demanding but interesting role in a busy department. The RDA team is friendly and hard working.

To fit into this job role you must be experienced in dealing with the public and have accurate keyboard and data input skills. Some experience of office and/or reception work is required. Previous work in a hospital would be an advantage but is not essential.

Responsibilities
  • Provide a welcoming, caring and efficient service.
  • Greeting patients, checking ID, demographics and accuracy of hospital records.
  • Book the arrival of patients on the computer with appointments and walk-in patients - patients may have electronic or paper requests - in accordance with procedures for location.
  • Communicate effectively and politely with patients, their families/carers, hospital staff and outside agencies in a professional and caring manner.
  • Provide correct, accurate and factual information to patients by phone and in person, respecting patient dignity and observing equal opportunities at all times.
