Vacancy - Clerical Assistant Level 2

Salary: Grade 3, SCP 4, £13.05 per hour, FTE Annual Salary £25,185
Actual Salary: £21,870
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract type: Full Time, Permanent, Term time plus six inset days.
Reporting to: Office Manager

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, reliable and dedicated Clerical Assistant to join our school. The successful candidate will require the ability to prioritise and manage a frequently changing workload, possess good organisational skills, develop good working relationships with the Administration team, and will be a responsible and reliable individual.

Key responsibilities
  • Provide routine clerical/administrative support e.g. photocopying, filing, emailing, completing routine forms, responding to routine correspondence.
  • Assist with managing the school’s email inbox.
  • Maintain manual and computerised records/management information systems.
  • Produce lists/information/data as required, e.g. pupil data.
  • Undertake more complex typing, word-processing and other IT based tasks.
  • Produce, collate, and distribute agendas, reports, and documentation for meetings.
  • Take notes at meetings, including meetings of the Governing Body.
  • Produce minutes of the meetings, including meetings of the Governing Body.
  • Organise and distribute incoming and outgoing post.
  • Undertake routine administrative procedures e.g. transport arrangements, catering arrangements, interview arrangements.
  • Maintain and collate pupil reports.
  • Undertake routine administration of school lettings and other uses of school premises.
  • Operate relevant equipment/computer applications (e.g. Word, Excel, databases, spreadsheets, Internet).
  • Maintain stock and supplies, cataloguing and distributing as required.
  • Provide general advice and guidance to staff, pupils, and others.
  • Undertake routine financial administration e.g. processing orders, receipt, recording and banking of monies due to the school.
  • Basic first aid.
