Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Cleaning Supervisor to manage cleaning and housekeeping services across out Sodexo site Worthy Down Barracks, Winchester, SO21 2RG.

In this key role, you’ll oversee service delivery, ensure high cleaning standards, manage your team effectively, and maintain strong relationships with both clients and on-site personnel. You’ll play a crucial part in ensuring we meet and exceed our contractual standards, KPIs, and health and safety requirements.

What You’ll Do
  • Plan, organise, and coordinate all site cleaning and housekeeping activities.
  • Ensure service delivery meets the standards set in the Service Level Agreement (SLA) and contractual terms.
  • Provide leadership, supervision, and training to your cleaning team.
  • Conduct regular audits to maintain and improve cleaning quality standards.
  • Maintain strict budgetary control, including stock management and labour allocation.
  • Monitor and uphold Health & Safety and COSHH compliance at all times.
  • Deliver team briefings, huddles, and performance reviews.
  • Complete all recruitment, onboarding, and personnel documentation for your team.
  • Maintain excellent client and military liaison, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
  • Visit Reading ARC weekly to provide training, equipment checks, and management oversight.
  • Ensure company equipment is used responsibly and report faults as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with other department managers to ensure operational excellence.
  • Carry out any other reasonable tasks or instructions as directed by management.
What You Bring
Essential
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within cleaning, facilities, or service industries.
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety and COSHH regulations.
  • Experience working in a standards-driven or compliance environment.
  • Excellent organisational and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, manage time effectively, and lead a team.
  • Willingness and ability to undertake manual handling tasks when required.
  • Strong communication skills and a professional attitude when liaising with clients and team members.
Desirable
  • Experience managing client relationships.
  • IOSH or BICSc qualification.
  • Awareness of ISO quality management systems.
  • Knowledge of new cleaning techniques or technologies.
  • Previous experience working within a military environment.
  • Proven leadership and staff development experience.
