Overview

To work under the direction of the Site and Buildings Manager to direct the cleaning staff of the Partnership Schools. To ensure that cleaning is in accordance with the required standards and specifications. The post holder will plan and prioritise their own work load and that of both cleaning teams without direct supervision. Supervision of Staff:

Responsibilities
  • To manage and direct staff to ensure that cleaning is in accordance with Partnership standards and specifications.
  • To communicate effectively necessary instructions, policies and procedures to the cleaning staff.
  • To hold return to work discussions.
  • Ensuring that additional hours claims forms are submitted at the end of each month.
  • The timetabling of annual clean down hours.
  • To attend and participate in regular meetings with the SSLP Teams.
  • Ensuring that the cleaning team is competent by:
  • Reviewing training and development needs for individuals.
  • The planning and delivery of training sessions to the cleaning team and individuals.
  • To recognise own strengths and areas of expertise and using these to advise and support others;
  • To undertake necessary training as and when required.
  • Training records for all staff are kept and up to date.
  • Create 'cleaning areas' for cleaning staff.
  • Ensuring that the work load of all staff is distributed in accordance with working hours.
Site Security
  • May be required to unlock and secure premises at agreed times and maintain key(s) in their possession.
Maintenance and Cleaning
  • Create and maintain a productive and orderly working environment.
  • With the Finance Team, manage and order cleaning equipment and supplies ensuring:
  • Sufficient stocks Stock rotation and availability
  • Minimisation of chemical wastage.
  • Report faulty equipment and other maintenance requirements to the Senior Site Supervisor.
  • To remove spillages and resultant stains from floors and other surfaces.
  • To dispose of waste materials in a safe, hygienic manner ensuring that it is available for collection as required - ensuring that the school ethos of recycling is supported.
  • To perform such other duties at a comparable level of responsibility including those of other members of the team.
  • Present a positive image of self, team and others.
Salary

Grade 5, £13.47 per hour, term time only plus 2 weeks. Mon-Fri 10 hours per week, 2 hours per day. Actual salary £6,379.75 per annum
