Isaac Newton Shopping Centre is seeking a reliable Cleaning Operative to maintain a clean, safe environment across the shopping centre for staff, visitors and customers.

The role requires attention to detail, good time management, and the ability to work independently while upholding high cleaning standards. Training will be provided; COSHH knowledge is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Clean communal shopping centre space.
• Vacuum, sweep and mop hard and carpeted floors.
• Clean restaurant and dining areas, ensuring floors, tables and high-touch surfaces are hygienically maintained.
• Empty waste and recycling bins and replace liners.
• Clean washrooms, replenish soaps, toilet rolls and paper towels.
• Dust and wipe all accessible surfaces.
• Spot clean glass, doors and internal windows.
• Report maintenance issues or hazards to supervisor.
• Use cleaning chemicals safely per COSHH and procedures.
• Follow all Health & Safety policies and site procedures.
• Ensure equipment is stored correctly after use.
• Deliver excellent customer service with a professional attitude.

Purpose of the Role

We are looking for a reliable, motivated and hardworking Cleaning Operative to join our team at Isaac Newton. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for staff, visitors and customers across the shopping centre

This role requires a high attention to detail, excellent time management and the ability to work independently while maintaining high cleaning standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean communal shopping centre space.
• Vacuum, sweep and mop hard and carpeted floors.
• Clean restaurant and dining areas, ensuring floors, tables and high-touch surfaces are hygienically maintained.
• Empty waste and recycling bins and replace liners.
• Clean washroom facilities, replenishing consumables such as soap, toilet rolls and paper towels.
• Dust and wipe all accessible surfaces.
• Spot clean glass, doors and internal windows where required.
• Report maintenance issues, hazards or damaged equipment to the supervisor.
• Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely in accordance with COSHH and company procedures.
• Follow all Health & Safety policies and site-specific procedures.
• Ensure cleaning equipment is cleaned and stored correctly after use.
• Deliver excellent customer service by maintaining a professional and courteous attitude at all times

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Essential

Physical Requirements

This role involves standing and walking for extended periods, bending, lifting, carrying cleaning equipment and operating cleaning machinery where required.

Salary - £12.90/hr
