Job Title: Cleaning Operative

Reports To: Soft Services Area manager

Location: Queens Arcade

Contract Type: Part Time

Hours: 40 (Monday Friday 0800-1200)

Salary: £13.08 per hour

Job Purpose: To ensure that designated areas are cleaned to a high standard in line with site requirements and health & safety regulations, providing a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out cleaning tasks to the highest standards as per the cleaning schedule.
  • Ensure all areas such as offices, washrooms, mall areas, corridors, and communal areas are cleaned and maintained.
  • Replenish consumables such as toilet rolls, soaps, and paper towels.
  • Safely use cleaning chemicals and equipment in accordance with training and company procedures.
  • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor.
  • Follow company and site-specific health and safety procedures at all times.
  • Ensure all equipment is cleaned and stored correctly after use.
  • Comply with site security procedures, including wearing the correct uniform and identification.
Person Specification
Essential
  • Previous cleaning experience (preferred but not essential, training provided)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good attention to detail
  • Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
  • Willingness to undergo training
Desirable
  • Knowledge of COSHH regulations
  • Experience using cleaning machinery (e.g., floor scrubbers, vacuums)
