Overview

Major Recruitment are currently recruiting Cleaning Manager/ Supervisor in Wigston Leicester. Mon to Fri 6am to 2pm. Salary is £38,387 P/A - 18.34 p/h. 2 to 4 weeks cover. Location: Wigston Leicester LE18

Job Purpose

To lead and supervise a team of cleaning operatives to ensure the factory maintains the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness in compliance with food safety regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Supervision: Manage and coordinate a team of 6 cleaning staff across shifts.
  • Allocate tasks and monitor performance to ensure cleaning schedules are met.
  • Provide training and guidance on cleaning procedures and safety protocols.
  • Hygiene & Compliance: Ensure all cleaning activities comply with food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, BRC).
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of cleaning areas.
  • Maintain accurate cleaning records and documentation.
  • Operational Duties: Oversee cleaning of production areas, equipment, changing rooms, and communal spaces.
  • Ensure proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Respond promptly to hygiene-related issues or incidents.
  • Health & Safety: Enforce health and safety regulations within the cleaning team.
  • Report hazards and ensure PPE is used correctly.
  • Support accident investigations and corrective actions.
  • Communication & Reporting: Liaise with production and quality teams to coordinate cleaning around operations.
  • Report staffing, equipment, or hygiene issues to management.
  • Attend supervisor meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
