A regional police authority in the United Kingdom is seeking a part-time Cleaner/Porter to maintain cleanliness across various police buildings. Responsibilities include general cleaning and porter duties. Applicants should have communication skills, ability for manual handling, and basic IT skills. Facilities Management currently has a Cleaner/Porter vacancy within our Corporate Asset Management Department.
The department consists of 3 key business areas: Fleet Services, Estates and Facilities Management, that provide a wide range of enabling support services including acquisitions and disposals, maintenance and servicing of police buildings and vehicles.
The successful applicant will be responsible for carrying out general cleaning and some porter duties within areas of an operational police station or partner building, that consist of offices, washrooms and welfare areas, custody suites and forensic areas.
Full training will be given commensurate with the British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc) standards.
There may be a requirement to commute to other sites from time within reasonable travelling distance, to cover absences of colleagues.
Cleaner/porter operatives are required to work across the police estate of West Midlands, covering Birmingham. We currently have the following Part Time vacancy:
Chelmsley Wood: 20 hours per week: Monday to Friday 07:00 - 11:00am
Salary - Please note the salary stated is pro rata
Successful applicants will be required to pass Recruitment Vetting and Counter Terrorism Clearances scrutiny prior to commencing their role, this will include a full background & financial disclosure as part of the vetting process.
Successful candidates will be subject to a medical assessment which may include a drug or hearing test.
