Job summary

BBS Recruitment is seeking experienced cleaners to cover sites in Haringey and surrounding areas. The role involves cleaning homeless housing, leisure centres, and residential spaces, with a focus on hygiene and safety. Enhanced DBS and a full UK driving licence are essential, along with prior cleaning experience.

Shifts are morning and afternoon/evening, across multiple locations, with the expectation of professional conduct with residents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitise communal areas, changing rooms, toilets and showers.
• Maintain cleanliness in homeless housing accommodations and leisure centres.
• Clean poolside areas and fitness facilities as required.
• Replenish cleaning supplies and consumables.
• Safely use cleaning chemicals and equipment per COSHH and safety rules.
• Report maintenance issues and safety concerns to management.
• Keep records and checklists of cleaning tasks.
• Travel between locations within Haringey and surrounding areas.
• Work professionally around residents in accommodation.
• Support a clean, safe, welcoming environment for residents, staff and visitors.

We are currently recruiting for experienced and reliable Cleaners to work with our client across Haringey (Tottenham) and surrounding areas. The cleaning work will cover a variety of environments, including homeless housing accommodation and leisure centres.

This is a great opportunity for a reliable Cleaner looking for consistent work and flexible shifts.

Please note: Only candidates with an Enhanced DBS, relevant cleaning experience and a full UK driving licence will be considered for this Cleaner role.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Cleaner:

• Cleaning and sanitising communal areas, changing rooms, toilets and shower facilities.
• Cleaning within homeless housing accommodation, including communal areas and other designated areas.
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene within leisure centres.
• Cleaning poolside areas and around fitness equipment where required.
• Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and disinfecting floors and surfaces.
• Replenishing cleaning supplies and consumables, including soap, toilet paper and paper towels.
• Safely using cleaning chemicals and equipment in line with COSHH and Health & Safety procedures.
• Reporting any maintenance issues, damage, hazards or health and safety concerns to management.
• Helping to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for residents, staff and visitors.
• Following cleaning schedules and completing relevant checklists and documentation.
• Working professionally and respectfully when cleaning accommodation occupied by vulnerable residents.
• Travelling between different locations within Haringey and surrounding areas as required.

Working Hours for the Cleaner:

Morning and afternoon/evening shifts available. Shift availability may vary depending on the location and service requirements.

Requirements for the Cleaner:

• Enhanced DBS check – essential
• Full UK driving licence – essential
• Previous experience working as a Cleaner or in a similar cleaning role.
• Experience cleaning in residential accommodation, homeless housing, leisure centres or similar environments is desirable.
• Good knowledge of Health & Safety procedures within cleaning environments.
• Certificate in Infection Control.
• COSHH training/certificate.
• Ability to safely use cleaning products, chemicals and equipment.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Flexible approach to working across different locations and shift patterns.
