Job summary

Leeds Bradford Airport Ltd in Leeds is recruiting reliable cleaning staff to support our growing airport operations. The role operates on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern with hours from 10am to 10pm, requiring professionalism and a courteous approach to passengers and staff.

You will maintain high cleanliness standards across all airport areas, report issues promptly to the Cleaning Team Leader, and assist with related administrative tasks while adhering to COSHH and health & safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a cleaning role.
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation / COSHH is preferable but not essential.
• Willingness to work a 4 on 4 off shift pattern.
• CRB check and 5 year employment/background checks will be required.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring an exceptional level of cleaning across all airport areas.
• Carrying out regular cleaning patrols around the building, inside and outside the terminal.
• Reporting cleanliness and maintenance issues to the Cleaning Team Leader.
• Assisting departments with cleanliness reports and rectifying issues promptly.
• Emptying waste bins and transporting waste to designated points.
• Sweeping, mopping and vacuuming floors as required.
• Using scrubbers and polishers to clean and burnish floors.
• Dusting and polishing furniture, ledges and window sills.
• Replenishing consumables and restocking supplies.
• Cleaning washrooms, including toilets and sinks.
• Following COSHH guidance when handling chemicals.

This role will be responsible for :-

Ensuring exceptional level of cleaning service is delivered across all areas of the Airport and to ensure all aspects of cleanliness exceed our customers’ expectations at all times.

Carrying out regular cleaning patrols of airport zones around the building both inside and outside of the terminal

Reporting any cleanliness and maintenance issues to the Cleaning Team Leader

Assisting departments with their reports of cleanliness issues and attend in an acceptable time to rectify the issue

Emptying waste bins or similar receptacles, transporting waste material to designated collection points

Sweeping floors with brushes or dust control mops

Mopping floors with brushes with or dust control mops

Mopping floors with wet or damp mops

Vacuuming and suction cleaning carpeted areas

Using electrically powered scrubbing and polishing machines to burnish, scrub, polish and spray clean floors

To dust, damp wipe, wash or polish furniture, ledges, window sills and external surfaces

Replenishing consumable items

Cleaning washrooms, including urinals, toilets and sinks

Using chemical agents as directed by the Cleaning Team Leader in the discharge of cleaning operations or maintenance procedures, in line with COSHH

Undertaking wall washing or inside window pane cleaning to a height no greater than body height plus an arms extension from floor level

Previous experience in a cleaning role, and knowledge of H&S legislations / COSHH is preferable but not essential

This role requires flexibility as you will be working on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern
