Universal Science UK Ltd in Milton Keynes MK11 is hiring a permanent Cleaner and Packer. You’ll help keep our factory clean, safe and a place people enjoy working in, while packing finished parts so they reach customers in perfect condition.

Hours are 8am–5pm Monday to Thursday and 8am–12pm Friday (finishing at 12 on Fridays). Benefits include 22 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, a discretionary bonus when the company does well, parking, and free tea and coffee.

We're Universal Science, a Milton Keynes manufacturer that has been going for over 24 years. We make custom parts for customers in electronics and electric vehicles, and we're looking for someone to help keep our workplace clean, safe and a genuinely nice place to be.

What you'll be doing

Part of your day goes on keeping the place looking good: the factory floor, offices, kitchen and toilets. The rest goes on packing our finished parts carefully so they reach customers in perfect condition. You'll be the reason the kitchen is somewhere people want to prepare theirlunch, and the reason our customers open a box and think "these people know what they're doing." It matters, and we'll tell you so.

Who we're looking for

Someone who takes pride in doing a job properly and notices the little things other people walk past. Experience is helpful but not essential, because we'll show you everything you need to know. Whether you're early in your working life or have plenty of years behind you, what matters is that you care about doing it well.

A job you can settle into

This is a permanent role with a steady, friendly team. It isn't agency work and it isn't a short-term contract.

Your hours

8am to 5pm Monday to Thursday, and 8am to 12pm on Friday, with a 30-minute lunch and two 15-minute breaks a day. Overtime is available if you'd like it.

22 days' holiday plus bank holidays, with three days kept for the Christmas shutdown. You'll get a discretionary bonus when the company does well, and our pension puts in 1% more than the legal minimum. Parking, tea and coffee are all free.
