Job summary

A local fitness center in Southend-on-Sea is seeking a dedicated Cleaning Staff member to maintain hygiene and cleanliness throughout the facilities. You will be responsible for cleaning tasks including floor maintenance, waste disposal, and ensuring that hygiene areas like toilets and showers are kept pristine. The ideal candidate will have prior cleaning experience, excellent time management skills, and the ability to work as part of a team. Flexibility in hours is essential as additional hours may be required.

Job description

Who will you be working for? We are a health & fitness company who are all about our services and our customers. We need people to join our team who will extend that service through the upkeep and cleanliness of our facilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide efficient and effective cleaning support, including ensuring that security and general appearance of the building and surrounding areas are maintained.
  • Emptying waste bins.
  • Sweep / mop / maintain all floors, surfaces and external grounds such as carpark.
  • Vacuuming of carpeted areas.
  • Daily & continuous ‘Spot’ cleans to remove spillages.
  • Clean furniture, ledges, window sills, external surfaces of cupboards, radiators, shelves, fittings.
  • Undertake wall washing and cleaning of window blinds, and inside windows as required.
  • Maintain pristine toilets, urinals, hand basins, showers and similar areas.
  • To complete, sign and submit company documents for management records along with check sheets on show to customers in relevant areas.

The changing rooms, toilets and any other hygiene related cleaning is a critical part of the role and it is imperative that these duties are completed to the highest standard as our members come first.

In addition, we ask for you to carry out any other reasonable tasks and support your team, who will equally support you!

REQUIREMENTS
  • Must have cleaning experience and ideally knowledge of cleaning substances and techniques.
  • Good time management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Flexible approach to the role - supporting the rest of your team when you can.
  • Open to working additional hours when required to cover sickness and annual leave.
  • To wear footwear, along with the uniform provided adhering to the health and safety requirements of the company and observing all company statutory fire and safety regulations.
