Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is recruiting a part-time cleaner at St. Matthews Academy, Saltcoats, Scotland. This role is 15 hours per week with pay of £11.68 per hour, permanent contract, and requires a proactive, reliable team player.

You will work under supervision to maintain a high standard of cleanliness, follow safety policies, and support the school with a safe, welcoming environment. Training is provided, and safeguarding rules apply; enhanced DBS checks will be required.

• Undertake cleaning tasks to a high standard in line with the contract and SLAs.

• Ensure security and confidentiality and comply with safeguarding policies.
• Provide excellent customer service and contribute to continuous improvement.

Main Duties

• Undertake successfully all training required to deliver the cleaning role.
• Work within a team and under their own initiative.
• Adhere to allMitie Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures.
• Maintain the designated area to an agreed level of cleanliness in line with the Contract and relevantSLAs, carrying out all daily weekly and periodic tasks as directed by the Cleaning Supervisor.
• Ensure that the service is delivered effectively and efficiently to a high standard.
• Ensure all equipment is kept clean, well maintained and is a safe working order.
• Report any maintenance requirements identified during cleaning tasks.
• Always maintain security – locking doors, following lost property procedures etc.
• Have a full knowledge and understanding of the designated cleaning area, including the agreed work specification and time allocated to facilities.
• Have a full working knowledge of all cleaning equipment, materials and approved chemicals used byMitie.
• Set a good example in terms of dress, behaviour, punctuality, and attendance.
• Ensure all Safeguarding Policies are always adhered to and raise any concerns in line with the Mitie policy.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Ensure contractors and external visitors comply with security and health and safety while on school premises.
• Build positive and productive working relationships with all customers, delivering excellent customer service and seeking ways to continuously improve and exceed expectations.
• To undertake any other related duties which are within the job holder's capability, according to the needs of the business.
