Job summary

UPP Ltd is seeking a part-time Cleaner in Reading to join our student accommodation team. The role is 20 hours per week, 9am–1pm, Monday to Friday, with a pay rate of £12.98 per hour (£13,544.83 per annum).

Qualifications

• Experience cleaning in a similar environment.
• Good conversational English and ability to read Health & Safety guidance.
• Willing to work at other sites with notice and during peak times.
• Vetting and basic DBS may be required.

Responsibilities

• Clean designated student accommodation areas including bedrooms, bathrooms, shower rooms and kitchens.
• Vacuum, spot clean and shampoo carpets, sweep and polish floors, clean stairs.
• Wash walls, doors, furniture, radiators and lampshades as appropriate.
• Empty waste bins and remove rubbish to bin store areas.
• Summer duties: make beds and change sheeting; collect laundered linen.
• Clean internal and external windows and wash glasses, cutlery and utensils.
• Daily liaison with residents, Residence Managers and UPP staff.
• Follow Health & Safety policies at all times.
• Be prepared to work at other sites and accept extra hours during peak periods.

## CleanerApply: Reading: Part time: Posted Today: End Date: October 12, 2026 (12 days left to apply): R6890**We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Cleaner to join our team.** This is a part- time position working 20 hours per week from 9am to 1pm Monday to Friday. The hourly rate if £12.98 per hour (£13,544.83 per annum). This role will be responsible for cleaning the designated areas for our student accommodation including bedrooms, bathrooms, shower rooms, kitchens and all white goods contained in the kitchens. This will include:* Vacuum, spot clean and shampoo carpets, sweep and polish floors and clean stairs* Wash walls, doors, furniture, radiators, lampshades as appropriate* Empty waste bins and remove rubbish from flats to bin store areas* During the summer season only: Make beds, including stripping and changing sheeting collection of laundered linen from store, bag and pack laundry for collection* Clean internal and external windows, where applicable* Clean and wash glasses, cutlery and cooking utensils, as appropriate* Daily liaison with the residents, Residence Managers and associated UPP staff* Act in accordance with all Health & Safety policies and practices at all times We truly care about the experience of our residents and invite you to join our friendly and passionate team to help make a positive difference to students living away from home in our accommodation. **We are looking for** you to already have experience of cleaning in a similar environment and have great communication and organisation skills, along with an attention to detail and the passion to do an excellent job. You will also be prepared to work (with notice) at other sites if required and additional hours when the need arises, especially during the main student arrival and departure weekends.
