Job summary

Chartwells Independent is recruiting a dedicated Cleaner (Zero Hours) to support Defence operations in Portsmouth on a permanent casual basis, contracted to 0 hours per week.

The role involves dusting, sweeping, mopping and sanitising areas, while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety. You will work with our cleaning teams to ensure environments remain hygienic and well-stocked, adapting to fluctuating shift patterns.

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning roles is preferred but not essential.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Flexibility to work in a casual, zero-hours setting.

Responsibilities

• Dusting, sweeping, polishing, mopping and vacuuming designated areas to a high standard.
• Maintain hygiene across surfaces, floors, windows and touchpoints.
• Restock cleaning supplies and dispose of waste appropriately.
• Respond quickly to spillages and maintain safe environments.

Your key responsibilities willinclude:

• Working alongside our cleaning and facilities teams to keep environments safe and hygienic for every client and customer
• Dusting, sweeping, polishing, mopping, and vacuuming designated areas to a high standard
• Ensuring surface areas, floors, windows, and other touchpoints are sanitised regularly
• Performing additional cleaning duties as and when required, such as mopping up spillages quickly and efficiently
• Emptying and disposing of bin waste
• Monitoring and re-stocking cleaning supplies.

Our ideal Cleaner will:

• Have brilliant organisational skills and attention to detail
• Enjoy working in a hands-on role
• Have had cleaning experience in a similar role, although this is not essential
• Have a flexible approach to working
