Job summary

Haveley Hey Community School is seeking a dedicated Cleaning Operative to maintain a clean and safe environment across the premises. The role involves deep cleaning, vacuuming, sweeping, and replenishing toiletries, with duties extending to windows and doors and stock checking.

You'll be required to follow health and safety regulations, report hazards promptly, and participate in training as required. This position supports the school in delivering a healthy learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning and maintenance in a school setting
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and safe working practices
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or in a team

Responsibilities

• 1.Cleaning the school premises including deep cleaning
• 2.Vacuuming carpeted areas and washing floors of cloakroomsand toilets in designated areas
• 3.Sweeping uncarpeted areas
• 4.Emptying and cleaning bins and disposing of rubbish in main bins
• 5.Spot cleaning of spillages
• 6.Cleaning desks, seats and skirting boards
• 7.Cleaning toilet areas and replenishing toiletries
• 8.Cleaning doors and windows
• 9.Checking stock levels of cleaning materials
• 10.Report all defects/hazards immediately to the caretaker or supervisor
• 11.Carry out duties in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with requirements under Health & Safety regulations, established safe systems of work, practices and procedures.
• 12.Assist in the care of equipment, materials and storage areas used in cleaning the building.
• 13.Participate in training as required.
