Job summary

Star Salford Academy is seeking a highly organized caretaker/ Facilities Assistant to help create and maintain a safe, clean learning environment for our pupils. You will ensure classrooms and common areas are clean, tidy and well maintained, supporting staff and students throughout the school day.

The successful candidate will work well in a team, show initiative, and communicate effectively with staff, students and families.

About Star Salford Academy

Star Salford Academyis a 5-form entry mixed secondary school for 11 to 16 year-olds, which was opened by Star Academies in September 2023. Like all Star schools, Star Salford Academy has a leadership specialism.

In July 2026, the school had its first Ofsted inspection, securing ‘Strong standard’ in four areas and ‘Expected standard’ in one area, reflecting the strong foundations established since the school opened. We were graded ‘Needs attention’ in one area (specifically attendance), and we are continuing to implement a wide range of strategies with parents, carers and families to improve this.

We provide a knowledge-based academic curriculum alongside a rich and diverse leadership programme that grows character and inspires charitable and social action. We’re looking for a highly organised individual to help create, maintain and manage a safe learning environment for our young people. You will have a keen eye for detail to ensure our facilities are clean, safe and well maintained.

The successful candidate will be a committed team player with excellent organisational and technical skills. You will have the ability to effectively problem solve and provide excellent customer service to our community.

You will have:
