Job summary

A local educational authority in Limavady is seeking a Cleaning Operative to maintain cleanliness in school premises. Responsibilities include floor cleaning, surface dusting, and restroom sanitation. Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and clean floors using appropriate equipment.
• Remove stains from soft floor surfaces.
• Clean toilet and shower areas including fixtures.
• Dust and wash ledges, walls, fixtures, and internal surfaces.
• Empty and clean internal litter bins.

Job description

Undertake, as part of a team, the cleaning of any area within the premises, designated by the line manager.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, suction clean, mop, dry buff, spray clean, spray wax, machine scrub and dry, strip and re‑polish floors using appropriate equipment.
• Clean and remove stains of soft floor surfaces (carpets/matting) using the appropriate cleaning method.
• Clean toilet and shower area including the fixtures and fittings.
• Clean, wash and dust ledges, walls, fixtures, fittings and internal surfaces up to 3.35M. Polishing furniture where appropriate.
• Empty and clean internal litter bins and remove litter to the designated collection points.

Skills and Qualifications

• Have a minimum of three months’ demonstrable working experience in a cleaning role.
• To meet the statutory obligations under Health and Safety legislation the successful applicant may be required to undertake training as necessary & provided by the EA cleaning service.
• One year’s experience of cleaning outside home environment.
• Demonstrable experience of using a range of commercial cleaning tools (e.g. buffing machinery).
